Dirty Beaches - Street Beat Dub

Here you go, a little Saturday treat for your ears. Friend of RSTB Matt Koshak, sound engineer extraordinaire, sent this rough cut of a new project from Dirty Beaches. Koshak and Dirty Beaches main man Alex Hungtai holed up in a studio in Bushwick the other night and began work on a new dub leaning project for the band. They recorded this track live in three hours with the help of Dum Dum Girls' drummer Sandra Vu. The results are a gauzy Goliath of a track that rumbles deep into the brain's sympathetic tones. The dub element seems so perfectly matched to Hungtai's midnight guitar excursions that I'm surprised its taken him this long to branch into the territory. This is just a rough mix mind you but the end results will end up on a full cassette of dub divinations that's planned between the two collaborators. Look out for that one and get a taste below.
